A Beautiful Time For Change

The second week of October is a week of beautiful change in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. As the people prepare for the change from summer to fall to winter, we are blessed with beauty to remind us of God’s faithfulness and promise – Genesis 8:22 – “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” These days of change are marked by the beautiful leaves that change their colors during this time. For us, these weeks are known as peak weeks in the mountains.

Let me remind you of another wonderful change that takes place during this time. For 30 years men from all across the country and even some foreign countries have traveled to these mountains. While here, they have spent 54 hours on top of one of these mountains, met new friends, became reacquainted with old friends and deepened their personal relationship with God. They leave the mountain a changed man. A changed man for the better. They go back home as better fathers and husbands. They go back to church as better leaders. And they return to work as better examples, all because their prayer life has been strengthened.

Let me ask you to look at this web site and begin to pray for this year’s National Prayer Clinic. As you pray for this year’s Clinic, I also hope that you are planning to participate as well. The dates this year are as always, the second Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in October. We are anticipating another wonderful time of fun, food, fellowship and faith. We hope you can be part of this year’s event and we will be looking for you.
